 Cans For Kids

Alberta Cans for Kids is a program intended to connect Depots with their communities through fundraising initiatives and to make a difference in a tangible way. Our first partner was the Stollery’s Children’s Hospital and within 15 months the goal of $100,000 was achieved late last year. Ordinary Albertans were supporting the program around the province. In 2010 ABDA added the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. The province was split, and a rivalry between North and South began.

Donation bins are located on site at both Plus I and Plus II Bottle Depots and our community has responded in a most generous way. Since the implementation of this program, over $22,000 has been raised in Grande Prairie for the Stollery.

Alderman Lorne Radbourne from the Grande Prairie City Council has a special place in our hearts for his recognition of this worthy cause. His granddaughter has been the recipient of medical care at the Stollery and we could not be more pleased to play a small part for someone in our community.
